Digital Literacies

 


Digital Literacies provides students with a foundation of basic software compentencies, including advanced word processing, image manipulation, print and web design, and layout, and production. Class discussions will focus on helping students develop a critical under-standing how technology shapes and his shaped by culture. Specifically students will learn advanced features of Microsoft Word such as form development and drawing canvas; image manipulation and creation with Adobe Photoshop; print layout and design with Adobe InDesign, and web design and creation with Adobe Dreamweaver.

Further instruction with these Adobe software programs will occur in higher level technical communication courses, including Information Design, Advanced Technical Communication, and the Capstone Course. See the Technical Communication Certificate website for more information.
